Videoconference with exporters from the USA
On February 23, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan jointly with the US-Uzbek Chamber of Commerce held a regular "round table" in the format of a videoconference with the participation of entrepreneurs from all regions of the country.
The goal is to discuss the prospects for establishing mutually beneficial cooperation between WCC International and Uzbekistan's manufacturing companies, including in promoting Uzbek products in the US market.
The draft agenda includes issues such as US-Uzbekistan Bilateral Trade, United States Market Entry Strategies, methods of market research and customers, international marketing: localization and adaptation of the product, adjustment of prices for local market demand, global e-commerce for entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan.
The videoconference was attended by over 20 companies engaged in the production of food, pharmaceutical products, agricultural products, wholesale trade, e-commerce.
During the videoconference, the high efficiency and effectiveness of the Uzbek-American business forum held within the framework of the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev to New York in September 2017, was specially noted. The results of this event with the signing of contracts totaling $ 2.6 billion, once again confirmed the interest of business circles of the two countries in establishing bilateral cooperation.
It should be noted that in order to enhance cooperation in the sphere of trade in 2017, the trading house of “Uztrade” company was opened for the first time in New York with a constantly operating show-room. This year, the export of fresh melons from Uzbekistan to the United States has also been established, export contracts for the supply of ready-made textile, dried fruit and vegetable products to the US market totaling $ 5.1 million were also concluded.
At present, the main positions of Uzbekistan's exports to the United States are chemical products, fresh and dried fruit and vegetables, various spices, handicrafts and engineering products. At the end of 2016, the volume of trade between our countries increased by 1.7 times and reached $ 453.8 million.
