Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the CCI of Georgia signed an agreement on cooperation
May 13-15, 2018 the delegation of Uzbekistan took part in the eighth meeting of the Uzbek-Georgian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.
The government delegation from Uzbekistan was represented by the Minister of Foreign Trade, Jamshid Hajayev, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan Utkir Butaev, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Investments Shamil Burnashev, Deputy Chairman of the State Tourism Committee Shahruh Sharakhmedov.
The meeting of the intergovernmental commission was headed by the First Vice Prime Minister of the Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Dmitry Kumsishvili.
A number of events were held during the visit. Within two days, the first Georgian-Uzbek business forum was held between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and Georgia, a meeting of the "round table Uzbekistan-Georgia" and a meeting in the format of B2B with the participation of business circles of the two countries.
In his speech, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan Utkir Butaev said that the Chamber of Commerce and Industry planned to create a Business Council in order to establish close partnership relations between small and medium-sized businesses, as well as providing effective assistance in resolving financial, legal and other issues related to their activities in the territories of the two countries.
The forum was attended by more than 12 representatives of large Uzbek and 70 Georgian companies engaged in the production of wine and vodka products, automotive and light industry, pharmaceuticals, construction.
Within the framework of the 8th meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, an agreement on cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Georgia was signed, which will undoubtedly give a new impetus to the development and strengthening of trade and economic relations between the two countries.
