A meeting with representatives of the delegation of the Ministry for International Development of Great Britain
On May 16, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting with representatives of the delegation of the Ministry for International Development of Great Britain headed by Duncan Overfield, deputy head of the Ministry for International Development.
The purpose of the visit is to study Uzbekistan, to develop regional trade relations, including with Afghanistan.
During the meeting, the representatives of the (MID) were acquainted with the large-scale economic reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, measures taken to liberalize the economy and the foreign exchange market, improving the business environment, supporting business, protecting the rights and legitimate interests of small businesses and private entrepreneurship, enhancing the investment attractiveness of the country's economy.
In the sphere of development of regional relations, Uzbekistan's desire to establish good-neighborly, friendly, mutually beneficial relations with all countries of Central Asia was emphasized. Uzbekistan makes effort to strengthen regional trade and economic cooperation, develop regional transport and transit infrastructure and increase trade with all countries in the region.
In this regard, the representatives of the delegation of the Ministry for International Development expressed their readiness to render assistance in expanding and deepening cooperation in the field of transport and transit, the development of international transport communications, logistics infrastructure and other.
