MAY 28 IN GENEVA (SWITZERLAND) THE 107th SESSION OF THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF WORK STARTED AND EXTEND TO JUNE 7
On May 28, the 107th session of the International Labor Conference began, which will last until June 7 in Geneva (Switzerland).
The purpose of the event is to discuss the implementation of the fundamental international legal norms and principles in the sphere of labor relations, employment, labor protection, as well as on social security and employment of the population.
The International Labor Conference is the highest, permanent body of the ILO, whose tasks are to determine the overall policy of the Organization, as well as the development and adoption of international legal norms in the field of labor and social protection of the population.
Sessions of the International Labor Conference are held annually.
The Uzbek delegation, which includes the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Women's Committee, as well as representatives of other agencies, also participates in the session among the ILO member countries.
During the conference, the delegation of Uzbekistan brings to the ILO member countries objective and comprehensive information on the comprehensive and consistent measures implemented in Uzbekistan in the field of labor protection, ensuring employment of the population and the implementation of social and labor guarantees.
The importance of the 107th session is that it is held on the eve of the ILO's 100th anniversary, which will be celebrated in 2019.
In this regard, the conference will consider the initiatives of the ILO century concerning challenges and the future of the world of work, especially in the era of globalization and the digital economy.
Among them are problems of finding employment for young people and women, transforming informal employment, ensuring safe working conditions, regulating labor migration, targeting social protection of the population-topical and for the conditions of Uzbekistan.
