On September 22-23, will be an exhibition-fair "Souvenirs of Uzbekistan"

For the first time in Uzbekistan there will be an exhibition-fair "Souvenirs of Uzbekistan", designed to promote presentations of products of national craftsmanship.

The event will be held on September 22-23 at Sailigoch Street in the capital. The main organizer is the Republican Association "Hunarmand", the partners are the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Physical Education and Sports, the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development, the Tashkent City Hokimiyat.

And how was the idea of ​​such a large-scale event born? According to the data of the Customs Committee, more than 500 types of foreign-made souvenirs are imported annually to the republic's territory, which could be produced by local artisans. Tourists who are the main buyers of such products, and do not suspect that the design of imported souvenirs does not bear the semantic load, since they do not have national symbols and can not be considered memorable.

The exhibition-fair "Souvenirs of Uzbekistan" is aimed at stimulating artisans and folk craftsmen, expanding the range of souvenir products produced, and determining the types of popular souvenirs. Also, the exchange of experience between the masters will allow them to work deeper on the quality and design of products. Having communicated with foreign tourists invited to the fair, craftsmen will be able to study the demand of foreign guests, get acquainted with the samples presented from foreign countries, souvenirs and goods with national attributes popular with tourists for organizing their production in Uzbekistan.

It is noteworthy that the event will have the character of folk festivities, show programs of folklore ensembles and groups, various folk games, master classes from folk craftsmen, rewarding craftspeople who have gained a greater amount of spectator sympathy from visitors.

Also, the kurash competition, the presentation of the rope walkers, the performance of the puppet theater, the concert of Uzbek traditional music and dance, and the tasting of pilaf will decorate the exhibition-fair. The end of the two-day event will be a gala concert, and the awarding of the best masters.
