Programs Developing to Increase the Export Potential of 66 Districts

The Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of Uzbekistan, the Holding Company ‘Uzbekozikovkatholding’, Joint-Stock Company ‘Uzagroeksport’, the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regional and district administrations have begun to develop programs to increase the export potential of 66 districts of the country.

The corresponding order was given October 12 at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan.

Programs are developed for 66 districts, specializing in the cultivation of fruits and vegetables. Each program will be provided for specific measures to develop the necessary infrastructure for harvesting, storage, processing, packaging and transportation of products.

Implementation of the programs should provide an increase in export volumes, and increase in farmers’ and population’s income.
