India is one of the important partners of Uzbekistan in the South Asian region. Our countries have established stable, friendly and multilateral relations between our countries. At the end of 2017. turnover amounted to $ 323.6 million, including exports - $ 32.5 million, imports - $ 291.1 million.
In order to further expand bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of India on August 8, 2018, in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the assistance of the Embassy of the Republic of India in Tashkent, a meeting of representatives of Uzbek and Indian business circles was organized.
The event was also attended by the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Adham Ikramov, who arrived in Delhi as part of the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The Indian side was represented at the head of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India in the Republic of Uzbekistan Vinod Kumar.
Issues, business representatives, their suggestions and recommendations on the further development of trade, economic and investment relations between Uzbekistan and India were discussed during the event.
The Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry informed the participants about the meetings and negotiations held with representatives of ministries, departments, as well as large companies of India in the period from 6 to 7 August 2018. in the city of Delhi.
In particular, on August 6, in the city of Delhi, the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in India with the assistance of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Investments and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, and held three business forums with the participation of representatives of more than 150 Indian companies and representatives of ministries / departments of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of the visit, the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of India, the Federation of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India, the Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry "India-SNG" and the Ministry of Small and Medium-Sized Business.
Within the framework of the above-mentioned visit, the parties discussed issues related to the organization of business forums in the framework of the forthcoming August 16-18, 2018 the next meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation between Uzbekistan and India, as well as the State visit of the President of the Republic to the Republic of India in 2018.
Vinod Kumar, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India in the Republic of Uzbekistan, noted that the events will undoubtedly play a significant role in the positive dynamics of the development of bilateral relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of India, and also informed the current state of bilateral Uzbek-

In the course of the videoconference, the representatives of business circles heard proposals on further expansion of cooperation between Uzbekistan and India in such areas as trade, pharmaceuticals, textiles, medicine, tourism and logistics.
As a result of the event, it was noted that all submitted proposals will be further studied jointly with partner organizations of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in India, information on the results of consideration will be transferred to the joint intergovernmental commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation between Uzbekistan and India.
Today the CCI has established cooperation with the Confederation of Indian Industry, the Federation of Chambers of Commerce of India, the India-CIS Chamber of Commerce, the Federation of Export Organizations of India, the All India Industry Association, the Institute for Entrepreneurship Development of India, the National Corporation of Small Business of India, and the Federation of Export Organizations of India.
Together with the Institute for Entrepreneurship Development in India, a project is being implemented to establish the "Uzbek-Indian Center for Entrepreneurship Development" in Tashkent and the regions of Uzbekistan.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan is working on the establishment of Uzbek-Indian business councils in conjunction with the Indian Confederation of Industries, which in the future will become an important platform for the exchange of ideas and proposals for large industry enterprises of the two countries, as well as the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India to expand cooperation between small and middle business of the two countries.
