A meeting of the Expert Council on Legal Issues was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry
August 10, 2018 in the building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a meeting of the Expert Council on Legal Issues was held to discuss the causes and conditions of business entities in the tax and customs spheres facilitating the commission of offenses, ways to eliminate them, and also to prevent and prevent them.
During the meeting, it was noted that in pursuance of the instructions identified in the Address of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.Mirziyoyeva Oliy Majlis, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry is consistently working in the field of countering violations of business, promoting broad discussion and reaction, first of all, the business community on facts offenses committed by business entities.
During the meeting, under the chairmanship of the First Deputy CCI, in close consultation with specialists from ministries, departments, representatives of the business community, a thorough analysis of the causes and conditions of the offenses committed by business entities for the first half of the current year in the customs and tax spheres, as well as proposals for their elimination prevention.
Thus, according to the information provided by the Prosecutor General's Office and the tax and customs information committees, 768 offenses in the field of customs legislation and 21 773 offenses in the field of tax legislation were committed by entrepreneurship entities.
In addition, business entities were explained the types of liability provided for in criminal, administrative and civil legislation, recent changes in this area, on the examples of individual business entities, clarified their mistakes in the conduct of entrepreneurial activities and the importance of conducting preventive work in the area of countering violations in the business environment .
Also, the decision of the Expert Council approved the Code of Business Ethics developed by the CCI, taking into account the comments and proposals of business entities, relevant ministries and departments.
The provisions of this Code regulate the key values and principles of business ethics, define the ethical basis for the Company's interaction with its employees, founders (participants), representatives of state bodies and public associations, partners, competitors, as well as other interested persons, discloses the issues of protecting confidential information, keeping records and reporting, fighting corruption, preventing conflicts of interest, as well as responsibility for non-compliance with the provisions of the Code.
