I International Fruit and Vegetable Fair started in Tashkent

I International Fruit and Vegetable Fair began its work at National Exhibition Center "Uzexpocentre". The fair will run until July 16. It is attended by representatives of foreign processing and trading companies, chambers of commerce and logistics companies from 27 countries, as well as relevant ministries, agencies and organizations of Uzbekistan, domestic producers of fruits and vegetables.

In the framework of opening the organizers conducted a plenary session with participation of heads of foreign delegations and international organizations. Addressing the meeting, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Sergey Levin, Vice-chairman of the International Nut and Dried Fruit Council Pino Calcagni, heads of the offices of the Asian Development Bank, World Bank and Japan International Cooperation Agency in Republic of Uzbekistan Takeo Konishi, Olivier Durand and Katsutoshi Fushimi noted the high level of the fair, considerable potential for fruit and vegetable industry of the country and opportunities for international cooperation in this field.

The main purpose of the event is to raise awareness among foreign refining and trading companies of the huge and unique for their consumer properties the potential produced in Uzbekistan environmentally friendly fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as finished product quality of their industrial processing.
