THE 23RD MEETING OF THE MANAGEMENT OF THE SCO BUSINESS COUNCIL WAS HELD

On September 14, 2022, in Tashkent, within the framework of the presidency of Uzbekistan to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the 23rd meeting of the management of the SCO Business Council took place online and offline.

At the meeting, the Deputy Secretary General of the SCO E.Ashimov, Executive Secretary of the SCO Business Council S.Kanavsky, From The Republic Of Uzbekistan D.Vakhabov was also attended by the chairmen of the National parts of the Business Council of the republics of India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, the chairman of the supervisory state Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and industry, as well as influential representatives of the business circles of the member countries of the organization.

The SCO Business Council is an independent structure authorized to make advisory decisions and give expert assessments on promising areas of trade, economic and investment cooperation with the involvement of representatives of the business circle among the member states of the organization.

The main purpose of holding the meeting of the management of the SCO Business Council is to develop and strengthen multilateral cooperation within the Council, exchange of views on business issues, establish stable and long-term cooperation in the field of trade and economic cooperation, as well as form a bilateral portfolio of documents for the current and subsequent years.

At the same time, organizational work was also considered during the meeting. Shiv Vikram Khemku, chairman of the National part of the SCO Business Council of the Republic of India, was elected as the new chairman of the SCO Business Council for a period from January 1 to December 31, 2023.

At the end of the event, the chairmen of the National parts of the SCO Business Council signed a formalized statement on the agreements reached at the meeting.
