Uzbek-Korean business forum to be held in Tashkent
A delegation of business circles of the Republic of Korea headed by the Honorary Consul of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Korea arrived in the Republic of Uzbekistan, and also the chairman of Evergeen Motor Group Kim Chang Kyong in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of this visit, on March 7, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted the Uzbek-Korean Business Forum and a cooperation exchange with the participation of entrepreneurs from the two countries, which will serve as an additional stimulus for the development of business cooperation.
The purpose of this event is to facilitate the establishment of trade ties between Uzbek and Korean companies, working out the issues of creating new joint ventures and implementing new investment projects.
The forum was attended by more than 150 representatives of major South Korean companies engaged in construction, food, trade, information and communication technologies, medicine, metallurgy, chemical industry, power engineering, engineering, automotive, pharmaceuticals, fruit and vegetable processing and the production of finished products, and also about 200 representatives of large enterprises and companies from various regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the business meeting, issues of mutual cooperation on strengthening cooperation between entrepreneurs of the two countries were discussed.
Within the framework of the business forum, a cooperation exchange with participation of entrepreneurs from the two countries was held.
It should be noted that Uzbekistan is Korea's main trade partner among the countries of Central Asia-over half of the Republic of Korea's trade with the countries of the region is in the republic.
The main export items: transport, construction and tourism services, cotton yarn, plastics and articles thereof, building materials, fibrous mass.
Import: parts of vehicles, mechanical and electrical equipment, plastics and articles thereof, articles made of ferrous metals, chemical products, rubber products, and other.
Currently, there are more than 460 enterprises in the Republic of Uzbekistan with the participation of Korean capital (386 joint ventures and 75 enterprises with 100% Korean capital).
Representative offices of 75 companies of Korea are accredited in Uzbekistan.
The main areas of their activities: oil and gas, petrochemical and chemical, textile, engineering, tourism, production of building materials.
